To TIF or Not to TIF
Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank is asking Baltimore City for $535 million TIF to help fund redevelopment in Port Covington. Toby Rittner, President and CEO of CDFA, joined Baltimore's WYPR to elaborate on TIF.

State OKs Columbia Falls TIF Plan
The Montana Department of Revenue gave the thumbs up to the City of Columbia Falls tax increment finance district and urban renewal plan, reports Flathead News Group. Based on 2016 levies, the district would generate approximately $14,771 for every taxable $1 million invested.

Omaha City Council Votes To Give More Than $20M in TIF to HDR
According to Omaha.com, the Omaha City Council vote to OK $20.9 million in tax-increment financing for HDR Inc.'s planned $152 million new headquarters building in downtown Omaha.

St. Paul Considers Blocking Future Tax-Based Loans at Midway
The St. Paul City Council will consider a motion to block new property tax-based development loans to private firms at the Midway Shopping Center. The TIF money adds up to roughly $16 million to rebuild Pascal Street and Shields Avenue and other infrastructure improvements.

SB Friedman Helps Rantoul Prepare Fourth TIF District
Rantoul Press reports SB Development Advisors provided the redevelopment project plan for a new 40-acre TIF district being created in Rantoul, IL that will have about a $15 million budget.

Kansas City TIF Commission Advances Cerner Redevelopment Agreement
As reported by Kansas City Business Journal, the Tax Increment Financing Commission of Kansas City recommended approval of a redevelopment agreement related to Cerner Corp.'s new $4.45 billion campus project, which received city and state approval for $1.745 billion in TIF in 2014.

Waterville City Council Approves TIF to Include Housing
Waterville city councilors unanimously voted to change a policy dealing with tax increment financing to include housing, reports The Colby Echo.
