Crowdfunding Campaign Launched for Rogers City Beautification
If the Rogers City-Third & Erie Beautification campaign reaches its crowdfunding goal of $50,000 by February 1, the project will win a matching grant with funds made possible by MSHDA and MEDC's Public Spaces Community Places program.
Report: MI Needs $4 Billion More per Year to For Infrastructure
The 21st Century Infrastructure Commission found that the state would need to spend in excess of $60 billion more over 20 years just to fix existing infrastructure systems. The price tag includes the revelation that Michigan has a $16 billion shortfall just for water and sewer capital needs over 20 years.
Brownfield Incentive Legislation Would Cap Annual Tax Captures at $50M
Legislation pending in the Michigan Senate to allow developers to capture a share of state sales and income taxes to defray costs of large projects on contaminated property would limit the amount of captured annual tax revenue to $50 million.
6 MI Healthy Food Retail Projects Receive $380K in Awards
The $380K in Catalytic Investment Award's were provided by the Michigan Good Food Fund. These awards were designed to catalyze high-impact projects with the goal to grow their capacity to successfully secure financing within the next 12 months.
$100K Raised Through Crowdfund for Kalamazoo Trail
The online campaign, located on Michigan-based crowdfunding platform Patronicity, raised $52,727 and will be matched by a grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and State Housing Development Authority.
Ottawa County to Receive $129K for Brownfield Redevelopment
The former Van Pelt Industries building, located at the intersection of West Savidge Street and School Street, will be demolished to make room for Best Financial Credit Union's first Ottawa County location. The redevelopment is expected to create four full-time and three part-time jobs.
