Woodway, TX Approves $3.7M Bond Issuance
Woodway leaders agreed to issue $3.7 million in certificates of obligation for waterlines and a joint municipality project. $2.2 million will cover debt owed to the Waco Regional Sewerage System, and $1.5 million to secure a long-term water supply.
Mineral Wells, TX Hotel Waiting for EB-5 Approval
Developers are eager to restore the 86-year-old Baker Hotel, but are still awaiting pre-approval from the Department of Homeland Security's EB-5 Immigrant Investor program. The developers applied to the program last September.

The runaway success of Magnolia Market at the Silos has caused city officials in Waco, TX to consider giving another dose of funding from downtown Tax Increment Financing Zone fund to help build lighted sidewalks and bury overhead wires.
Austin Energy Receives SHINES Grant
Austin Energy received a $4.3 million grant from the Department of Energy to explore new energy storage methods. The DOE hopes that the grantees can develop technology that will make solar energy a viable resource across the country.
