PIDA Loans Will Support 185 Jobs
In 2017, PIDA has approved $12.4 million in low-interest loans that have resulted in $20.4 million in private investment. Over the last month PIDA approved $1.87 million in low-interest loans for four projects in Beaver, Bucks, Lancaster, and Mifflin counties that will generate nearly $3.4 million in private investments.

University City, PA Qualifies for Start-Up Tax Credits
The 2016 Keystone Innovation Zone Tax Credits are $15 million in tax credits that are available to startup companies in certain geographic areas throughout the state. Keystone Innovation Zones were originally created as part of former Governor Rendell's plan to encourage startup growth throughout Pennsylvania.

$1.4M Provided to Nine PA Revitalization Projects
The Keystone Communities program is designed to encourage the creation of partnerships between the public and private sectors in the community that jointly support local initiatives such as the growth and stability of neighborhoods; social and economic diversity; and a strong and secure quality of life.

Scranton, PA Group Looks to Scuttle Local Tax Tripling
A Lackawanna County, Pa., court was scheduled Monday to hear a petition by a Scranton taxpayer group that alleges the distressed city's tripling of its local services tax is illegal.

PA State Tax Credits May be Cut
A cost-savings proposal in the governor's budget for fiscal 2017-18 would convert an array of state tax credits into a block grant. That would enable officials to give priority to those tax credits providing the greatest opportunities for business investment, education access, and community development.

DCED to Tighten Job Creation Rules and Add New Grants
Companies that receive state funding for job creation would face stricter oversight under Governor Tom Wolf's 2017-18 budget proposal, with revenue collected from companies that fall short helping fund a new apprenticeship program.
