Rome City Expecting 3 Tax Deferment Requests
Rome City Commissioners are expecting requests for as many as three new Tax Allocation District financing plans for new developments.

Atlanta Trail Projects To Get Funding Boost Under T-SPLOST
The Trolley Line Trail is one of the many projects that may get a financial boost if Atlanta voters approve the Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or T-SPLOST. Part of the revenue from the tax would go to the Atlanta BeltLine. But there is also a slice of funding that would be dedicated to smaller, neighborhood trail projects, like the Trolley Line.

Sandy Springs Preps for Legal Action Against CID and Consultant
The Sandy Springs City Council recently authorized its legal staff to pursue "all legal avenues" against the Fulton County Perimeter Community Improvement District and consultant CH2M Hill Inc. to protect the city in a dispute over nearly $2.8 million in federal highway funds.

$3.6M Project Likely Headed to Commission Vote in Macon GA
Macon county, GA, has received a $3.6 million construction bid to build multipurpose fields, sidewalks, a playground and pavilions at the Willie Smokie Glover Drive park. Approval from the Macon-Bibb County Commission could come in the next several weeks, and construction by International City Builders could start by early September.

Columbus GA Buying up Blighted Property on South Side
The city of Columbus is planning to buy five parcels of land on and adjacent to Cusseta Road, including the notorious former Club Majestic, "to eliminate slum and blight," Columbus Council decided this week.

Atlanta Scores $10M Federal Grant to Improve MLK Drive
A recently announced federal grant will pump $10 million into Atlanta's Martin Luther King Jr. Drive corridor to improve mobility and safety, while enhancing the aesthetic feel of the seven-mile corridor that stretches from the mouth of a brand new football stadium to the western border of the city.
