$3.8B SF BART Bond on November Ballot
The Bay Area Rapid Transit council has agreed to place a $3.8 billion bond measure on the November ballot. $625 million will go toward track improvements, $1.2 billion to power infrastructure, $570 million to improve tunnels and structures, and $400 million to increase train capacity
Roseville, CA Project Receives $24M in Tax Credits
Developers of a $24 million mixed-use project in downtown Roseville can start construction this year, after receiving affordable housing tax credits from the state of California. The first floor will have 3,000 sq ft of retail space.
Nevada City, CA Receives $200K from EPA
Nevada City has received $200,000 from the EPA Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund and Cleanup grant program. The city will use the funds to clean up the Providence Mine and expand a recreational trail.
North Fork, CA P3 Receives $900K in NMTC
A biomass gasification plant project in North Fork received $900,000 in New Markets Tax Credits, as well as a $4.9 million grant from the California Energy Commission. The project is the result of a P3 between North Fork Community Development Council and Phoenix Energy.
Kings Co, CA Won't Appeal HSR Ruling
Kings County officials have decided not to appeal the ruling against Central Valley landowners in their ongoing suit against California's high-speed rail project. The judgement found that the $64 billion system does not violate promises made to voters.
Largest PACE Bond Securitization Completed
Renovate America announced the closing of its seventh securitization of PACE bonds – the largest ever completed to date by any issuer and a designated green bond secured by 13,432 PACE assessments levied on residential properties in 31 California counties.
Norton Rose Fulbright Acquires 18 Sidley Public Finance Lawyers
Norton Rose Fulbright announced that 18 members of Sidley Austin's public finance practice will be transferring to the firm as part of a change that includes opening a new San Francisco office. Eight of the lawyers will join the New York office, two to the DC office, and eight to the San Francisco office.
SF Issues First Climate Certified Water Bond
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) has become the first organisation to issue a green bond certified under the Climate Bonds Water Criteria. The certified bond was issued for $240 million.
