Budget Impasse Threatens IL Road Work
Almost $2 billion of Illinois road projects and 25,000 construction jobs are at risk from the state budget dispute between Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner and the Democratic-controlled General Assembly, according to a coalition of Illinois business groups and labor unions.
IL Downgraded Again
The political gridlock in Illinois spurred another downgrade for the state's bonds. Moody's Investors Service dropped $26 billion of general obligation bonds one notch to Baa2 from Baa1. The outlook stays at negative.
