Missouri Economic Report 2016
This report was prepared by the staff of the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center (MERIC) as part of the annual Missouri Economic Report. In this annual review of the Missouri economy, changes in gross state product, personal incomes, civilian labor force, unemployment, and employment are analyzed for the current period and more broadly over the last ten years.

Plans for a new agriculture-focused park in central Columbia received a $50,000 grant from the National Association of Conservation Districts.

Executives to Lead Expansion of Residential PACE Financing in MO
Renovate America, the largest provider of residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing in the U.S., has hired Missouri-based executives to lead the expansion of the company's HERO PACE Program into the state, working with the Missouri Clean Energy District.

Mexico, MO City Council OKs $12.5M Issuance for Distribution Center
The Mexico City Council authorized the issuance of approximately $12,500,000 in Chapter 100 industrial development bonds to provide funds to pay the costs of constructing an approximately 300,000 square-foot distribution center in Mexico, Missouri.

Petitioners Push to Limit Tax Incentives in KC
A Kansas City group is attempting to collect the 1,700 signatures needed to force a public vote on its proposed reform ordinance that would limit property tax abatements and property tax diversions via tax-increment financing to 50 percent for all Kansas City projects for which incentives are being considered.

MO's Investment in Start-Ups, Position as Leader in New Business
Gov. Jay Nixon highlighted Missouri's increased investment in start-up companies and the dividends that investment is paying for Missourians and the economy during a visit to BioGenerator Accelerator Labs, which provides access to collaborative lab and state-of-the-art equipment for start-ups.
