Downtown Rebound: Tax Breaks Drive Tucson Business Boom
The city of Tucson has waived about $22 million in property taxes for a dozen downtown businesses as a strategy to spur investment and development, and it's working, officials say.
Dispute over Bond-Funded Diamondbacks Baseball Stadium
Maricopa County will not pay $65 million for repairs to the bond-funded Chase Field in downtown Phoenix, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The club recently asked for another infusion of $65 million for repairs to the facility.
ADEQ Funds $1.9M in Grants to Reduce Pollutants in AZ Waterways
Arizona Department of Environmental Quality awarded over $1.9 million in funds to counties around the state for field projects to reduce harmful pollutants entering waterways.
AZ State Parks Approves $3M in Grant Funding
Arizona State Parks has approved 29 grants to enhance and create new trails across Arizona, totaling just over $3 million in funding.
Master Developer Sought for AZ Airport Property
The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority issued a request for qualifications for a master developer. In addition to submitting facility development ideas and strategies, the team also would be expected to invest in the project, market it, recruit tenants and lease the facilities.
