CDFA & The Food Trust Launch Partnership
With funding from the Kellogg Foundation, CDFA is researching how DFA's can become more engaged in developing localized food systems through traditional finance. CDFA is partnering with The Trust to develop and produce a pilot project that utilizes development finance tools for a food related development.
Baltimore, MD Mayor Seeks $102M TIF
Mayor Pugh's administration is seeking a $102 million subsidy for an $889 million East Baltimore redevelopment project. Overall, the project includes $155 million in infrastructure improvements, $425 million in new housing and $309 million in mixed-use and commercial development.
Hamilton, OH Rehab Project Receives $4.7M in HTCs
The Ohio Development Services Agency awarded just under $4.7 million in Ohio Historic Preservation Tax Credit credits to Spooky Nook Sports for rehabilitation of the former paper mill in Hamilton. The rehabilitation project will convert the huge industrial building at 600 N. B St. into a hotel and event center.
EPA Soliciting Comments on BUILD Act Provisions
The EPA is soliciting comment on three provisions in the BUILD Act: 1.)The authority to increase the per-site cleanup grant amounts to $500,000; 2.)The new multi-purpose grant authority; and 3.)The new small community assistance grant authority.

LCDA Issues GOMESA Bonds for Cameron Parish, LA
The Louisiana Community Development Authority has issued an $11,895,000 green bond to be used to finance additions, acquisitions, repairs and/or expansions needed for coastal restoration, protection and for other activities within Cameron Parish.
Augusta, GA EDA Approves $68M Issuance for Recycling Plant
Allied Energy Services, a Conyers, Ga.-based alternative energy company, intends to build a recycling plant at the Augusta landfill through use of $68 million in industrial revenue bonds. The 55,000-square-foot facility would be capable of converting up to 175,000 tons of trash a year into biomass fuel.
H.R. 6104, GAIIN Act, Would Support Low-Income Communities
Reps. Mike Kelly, William Lacy Clay, and Ted Budd, introduced H.R. 6104, a bill that would authorize the USDA to sell off distressed assets and use a portion of the proceeds to fund infrastructure investments in distressed urban and rural communities.
