The “Internet of Things” (IoT) will create unprecedented new uses for internet-enabled devices and heighten demands for connectivity. 5G, considered the next mobile wireless standard, will support the proliferation of these devices. Cities will further utilize the devices and connectivity for intelligent transportation systems, traffic control, public safety, and utility monitoring.
