Fundamentals of Economic Development Finance Course
The Fundamentals of Economic Development Finance Course is the foundation for all of CDFA’s educational offerings and provides attendees with a basic understanding of bonds, tax increment finance, tax credits, revolving loan funds, federal programs, and best practices of development finance agencies. This course provides the insight and practical information needed to critically understand how economic development is financed and the tools, strategies, and techniques used to build strong communities.

Intro Tax Increment Finance Course
The Intro Tax Increment Finance Course offers an in-depth look at the guiding principles and appropriate application of TIF. Topics discussed include the basics of TIF, negotiating and structuring TIF deals, understanding various financing structures, and combining TIF with different capital sources. Several case study examples from active TIF deals will be presented with explanations for how the community was proactively engaged in the process.
