Omnibus Spending Bill Contains Housing Tax Credit Provisions
Congressional leaders today released a fiscal year (FY) 2018 omnibus appropriations bill that includes several tax provisions, including an expansion of the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC).

LIHTC Prices Expected to Drop as Market Adjusts to Tax Rate
Low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) prices are expected to drop in the first half of the year as the market adjusts to the sweeping changes made under the recent tax reform legislation. While the market may eventually regain its strength by the end of the year, it's going to have to first reset at a lower corporate tax rate.

Red Stone Equity Partners Raises Record $650M of Tax Equity in 2017
The $650 million of tax credit raised in 2017 was comprised of $641 million of LIHTC equity and $9 million of renewable energy tax equity. Red Stone Equity also expanded its LIHTC portfolio of investments from 32 to 36 states.

2018 AL Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit Announced
Alabama Historical Commission announced $20M in their state Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit to 12 different projects. Along with the 12 recipients, 14 projects remain on the wait list for allocation.

Monogram Foods Solutions completed construction of a clean energy plant adjacent to the production facility that uses an anaerobic digester (AD) to treat its wastewater. The development was financed with equity from both NMTCs and ITCs. U.S. Bank provided $4 million in NMTC equity.

The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA) announced it is now accepting applications from developers for approximately $28 million in federal 9% LIHTC, which are expected to help finance an estimated 1,400 affordable rental apartments in the state.
