USDA Invests $181M in Loans for Rural Electric Upgrades
U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service Administrator Chad Rupe announced that USDA is investing $181 million to upgrade rural electric systems in 10 states. The funding includes $7.7 million to finance smart grid technologies that improve system operations and monitor grid security.
NJ Resources to Issue $150M of Green Bonds
New Jersey Resources (NJR) announced it has entered into an agreement to issue $150 million of Green Bonds, with $50 million issued on July 17, 2019, and $100 million expected to be issued on or about August 15, 2019. This is NJR's first issuance of Green Bonds and underscores the company's commitment to clean energy projects.
UAMS Looks at $156M Building Project
If the $156 million project's financing -- proposed through a University of Arkansas System revenue bond issue -- is approved, it will be the first brick-and-mortar expansion of the Little Rock campus since its new hospital opened in 2009.
PA Invests $136M in Water Infrastructure
Pennsylvania has announced the investment of $136 million for water infrastructure improvements. The funding, provided by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, will go to 17 projects in counties throughout the state for drinking water, wastewater, stormwater, and other improvements.
Bay Area Rapid Transit Issues $674M in Green Bonds
San Francisco's Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is issuing $674 million total in General Obligation Green bonds through negotiated sale. Most of the proceeds are being used to finance improvements to BART facilities.
American Campus Communities Partners With University of Illinois to Open New Living-Learning Center
When students arrive at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) campus next month, nearly 550 will move into its newest building, the Academic and Residential Complex, where they will have the opportunity to take classes in new spaces that foster learning through technology and collaborative design.
More Than $400M Available for USDA REAP Loan Guarantees
The USDA is encouraging rural small businesses and agricultural producers to apply for financing in a key USDA program that provides loan guarantees to help rural small businesses lower their energy costs. USDA accepts applications for REAP funding year-round. Potential applicants should contact their state USDA Rural Development office for additional information.
USDA Invests in $135M Rural Water and Wastewater Infrastructure
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Utilities Service Administrator Chad Rupe announced that USDA is investing $135 million in 49 projects to improve rural water infrastructure in 24 states. USDA is making the investments through the Water and Waste Disposal Loan and Grant program.
