New York Announces $100M for Clean Green Schools Under Environmental Bond Act
New York announced that $100 million is now available through the Clean Green Schools Initiative under the historic $4.2 billion Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act. The initiative will allow for the advancement of construction projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help public schools improve environmental sustainability and decarbonize school buildings.

U.S. DOT Approves $2.5B in Private Activity Bonds for Brightline West Project
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) approved $2.5 billion in private activity bonds authority allocated for the Brightline West High-Speed Intercity Passenger Rail project connecting Las Vegas, NV and Southern California. The 218-mile, high-speed rail line will primarily run along the I-15 median. Brightline West's $12 billion high-speed rail project will be a fully electric, zero-emission system to become one of the greenest forms of transportation in the U.S.
CDFA Recognizes Zeyu Zhang - the Newest Graduate of the Prestigious DFCP Program
The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) is pleased to welcome Zeyu Zhang, a valued member of the CDFA team, as the newest graduate of the prestigious Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) program. As a new graduate, Ms. Zhang joins the ranks of fellow graduates who are recognized as emerging leaders in the development finance industry.
IRA Creates 100K Clean Energy Jobs and Attracts $110B in Private Investments
Based on tracking by the nonpartisan trade group Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), since the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) of 2022, over 274 major clean energy projects have been announced across 41 states, leading to over $110 billion in private investment announcements and the creation of over 95,000 jobs.
Massachusetts State Funds, LIHTC Boost Affordable Housing Projects
Affordable housing projects in 19 Massachusetts communities, including Northampton, South Hadley, and Holyoke, will benefit from subsidies and tax credits announced recently by Governor Maura Healey. The money comes from subsidies and the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, which saw a $20 million increase in the tax package Healey signed in October 2023.
Henry County, IL Rural RLF to Support a $1.6M Agricultural and Industrial Equipment Project
The Henry County Board approved a $100,000 "gap" loan from its Rural Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to allow Uniflyte of Orion to initiate a $1.6 million project. The project plans to bring the production of augers for agricultural and industrial equipment for Case New Holland (CNH) back from Europe. Thirteen new jobs are being created for the Orion manufacturer. The $1.6 million will include $581,000 for a machine to build the augurs, more than $300,000 for other related equipment, and additional funds for other costs, including salaries.
