Lendistry Brings Fintech to Government Program for Maryland Small Businesses
Lendistry has updated its smart scoring fintech solution, which is designed to provide small business loans equitably to underserved communities, to provide fast and responsible loan offers to applicants who are eligible for state-sponsored loans. These loans are supported by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's Neighborhood BusinessWorks Loan to Lender program, through which Governor Moore committed $15 million to Lendistry in 2023.
CDFA Recognizes Amanda Frazier, the Newest Graduate of the DFCP Program
The Council of Development Finance Agencies (CDFA) is pleased to announce Amanda Frazier, Vice President, Controller for LDK Ventures, in Sacramento, CA, as the newest graduate of the prestigious Development Finance Certified Professional (DFCP) program. Ms. Frazier joins the ranks of fellow graduates who have invested in their professional development and are recognized as emerging leaders in the development finance industry.
Indiana Begins First Loan Program for Small Meat Processors
The Indiana State Department of Agriculture (ISDA) announced a first-of-its-kind loan program for small and very small meat and poultry processors in the state of Indiana. The Indiana Meat and Poultry Intermediary Lending Program (MPILP) is a $15 million revolving loan program that assists state processors in expanding their operations. The funding was made available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Meat and Poultry Processing Expansion Program.

$260M in Funding to Build and Preserve More Than 1,800 Homes Across New York
Governor Kathy Hochul recently announced over $260 million has been awarded through tax credits and subsidies to create or preserve 1,852 affordable, supportive, and sustainable homes in 29 developments across New York State. The projects will expand or protect the housing supply in every region, upgrade and modernize public housing, further local economic development initiatives, and include sustainable features that advance the State's climate goals.
Maine to Receive $15M to Help Communities Impacted by Coastal Infrastructure Damage
Maine will receive $15 million to help communities recover from coastal infrastructure damage in the Fiscal Year 2024 Commerce, Justice, and Science appropriations bill. The legislation includes $10 million through the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission to repair and renovate infrastructure affected by recent storms and $5 million to establish a new program at the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for working waterfronts.
U.S. Department of the Interior Provides $120M for Climate Resilience in Tribal Communities
The U.S. Department of the Interior announced that more than $120 million will fund 146 projects to help tribal communities plan for and implement projects to tackle severe climate-related environmental threats to their homelands. This investment from the Inflation Reduction Act, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and annual appropriations will help tribes proactively plan for and adapt to these threats and safely relocate critical community infrastructure, where necessary.
Marin County, CA Supplies $3M Loan to Speed Public Housing Project
The Marin Housing Authority approved an agreement enabling the county to loan the housing authority $3 million to allow it to begin implementing a redevelopment plan to rehab a public housing complex. The financial components of the plan include $117 million in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit investor equity; $26 million in Historic Tax Credit equity, due to the site's historic status; a $102 million loan; a $69 million seller carryback loan; a $13 million deferred developer fee; and $1.8 million in accrued interest.
