Food Companies Leverage EDA Resources and NJ's Unique Assets to Support Growth
New Jersey's food and agriculture industry is estimated to produce $105 billion in revenues annually. The State is home to more than 1,900 food manufacturing companies employing approximately 31,000 people, according to a Rutgers University study. These numbers do not include the State's thousands of food-distribution centers, retailers, and farms.

Cuomo Hopes to Extend Film and TV Tax Credit in NY
NY's film and TV tax incentive is worth $420 million per year. And although it is set to expire in 2019, Governor Andrew Cuomo has proposed extending it as part of this year's budget through 2022.

NJ Lawmakers Clash on Sanctuary City Bill
New Jersey lawmakers are debating a bill introduced in both the state Senate and Assembly that would require the state to reimburse municipalities that defy President Trump's ban on "sanctuary cities."

Surge of EDA Approvals for NJ's Angel Investor Tax Credit Program
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) announced the approval of a record-breaking 251 applications through the State's Angel Investor Tax Credit Program in 2016, representing the injection of more than $96 million in private capital into technology and life sciences companies throughout the Garden State. In the fourth quarter of 2016 alone, the EDA approved 198 applications.

NJ EDA Programs to Enhance Commercial Corridors in Growth Zones
The Board of the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) acted today to expand support of small business growth in Garden State Growth Zones (GSGZs) through the creation of the Business Lease Incentive (BLI) and Business Improvement Incentive (BII) programs.

$20M of LIHTC's Support Strong Families Fund Developments
The Strong Families Fund (SFF) announced that it is providing equity financing for two affordable housing developments—the renovation of Abbey Church Village in Dublin, Ohio, and Hillside View Apartments in Schenectady, N.Y.

States See Value in Backing 'Food Hubs' for Farmers, Consumers
The growth in locally sourced food, a market that totaled $12 billion in sales in 2014 and could reach $20 billion by 2019, coincides with rising consumer demand for healthier fresh food that is often grown organically and with environmentally friendly practices and food hubs are capitalizing on this market.
