Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank Approves $400K Brownfield Loan for Nexus Lofts Project
Rhode Island Infrastructure Bank approved a $400,000 loan from the Brownfields Revolving Loan Fund to finance environmental remediation work as part of the larger Nexus Lofts redevelopment project located at 49 North Union St. The redevelopment will include 27 affordable market-rate apartments with ground floor office and/or retail.
City of Ruston, LA Breaks Ground on $22.3M Monroe Street Corridor Project
The Monroe Street Corridor Project is composed of seven interconnected multiple infrastructure projects that will increase the efficiency and safety between Louisiana Tech University, its Enterprise Campus, downtown Ruston, and Interstate 20 made possible by a $17 million RAISE grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. It features "complete streets" that integrate road diets, incorporates existing brownfield sites, and utilizes low-impact design principles.

City of Wheeling, WV to Divvy Up $1.1M in Community Development Block Grant Funding
The Wheeling City Council is expected to approve an ordinance authorizing a grant agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the amount of $1,186,308 for the CDBG funding for 2021. The list of city-wide projects includes $121,000 as the local match for the brownfield cleanup at the site of the proposed Robrecht Riverfront Park.

Brewery and Riverfront Development in Ann Arbor, MI Get $870K in State Funds
Two Ann Arbor developments have acquired grant funding to help them environmentally restore properties for planned projects, including HOMES Brewery which has received a grant of $370,000 to address contamination issues. In addition to creating a tasting room, coffee shop, a commissary kitchen, an art gallery space, and a flex space for events.
Texarkana, TX Awarded $500K in EPA Revolving Loan Fund Supplemental Funding
The City of Texarkana, Texas was recently awarded $500,000 in EPA Revolving Loan Fund Supplemental Funding for additional clean up and reuse of Brownfield sites. The additional funding will support loans for abatement of contaminants in vacant properties with a viable redevelopment plan.
