CDFA Community Facilities Technical Assistance Program in Action
The Community Facilities Program is provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development to help support the financing and investment of essential facilities in rural communities. $44.5M to Improve Postsecondary Education Access in Rural Communities
The White House Administration announced $44.5 million in grants to 22 institutions of higher education to improve rates of postsecondary education enrollment, persistence, and completion among students in rural communities. The Rural Postsecondary and Economic Development (RPED) grant program promotes the development of high-quality career pathways aligned to high-skill, high-wage, and in-demand industry sectors and occupations in the region.

USDA Rural Development Awards $125.1M to 5 Puerto Rico Municipalities to Repair Landfills
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has awarded $125.1 million in disaster assistance funds to the municipalities of Cabo Rojo, Guayama, Jayuya, Juncos, and Lajas to repair damages to their municipal solid waste landfills caused by Hurricanes Irma, Maria, and Fiona.
Federal Partners Celebrate Construction of Camden Point, MO Wastewater System, Treatment Facility
Federal partners joined Mayor Gloria Boyer of the City of Camden Point, Missouri, to celebrate the construction of a centralized, sanitary sewer collection system and wastewater treatment facility that will improve the health and well-being of the city's residents. The sewer and wastewater treatment project is estimated to cost over $8 million, with funding supplied through EPA, USDA, HUD, revenue bonds, and city funds.
$2.9M Water, Wastewater Improvements for Reno-Sparks, NV Indian Colony
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Nevada State Director Lucas Ingvoldstad celebrated the ribbon cutting for a $2.9 million combined loan and grant commitment towards water and wastewater system improvements for the Hungry Valley Colony of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony.
Over $400K to Create Economic Opportunity in Underserved Florida Communities
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Florida State Director Lakeisha Hood has announced a project to improve housing and economic conditions for underserved communities in Florida. USDA Awards California Business to Increase Access to Clean, Affordable Domestic Biofuels
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development California State Director Maria Gallegos Herrera announced that USDA is awarding a $3.5 million grant to increase the availability of domestic biofuels in California, thereby giving Americans cleaner, more affordable fuel options at gas station pumps.
USDA Rural Development Celebrates $1M Investment in Oregon, WI Library
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development director Julie Lassa visited Oregon, WI to celebrate the grand opening of the Oregon Public Library. The event marks the completion of construction, due in part to a $1 million USDA Rural Development Community Facilities Grant. The library was expanded by over 20,000 square feet and includes a community room, conference room, study rooms, story room, and a quiet reading room.
USDA Announces $1.1M for Rural Iowa Projects
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development announced $1.1 million in funds awarded to 16 rural Iowa projects. Among the grants awarded is $22,000 for the City of Pisgah to create a water facility plan developed by engineers. This project will address water system conditions and performance and will include alternatives and recommendations to meet the rehabilitation needs of the entire water system.
USDA Accepting Fellowship Applications to Help Farmers, Rural Small Businesses
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that it is hiring 40 Climate Change Fellows to help with the record numbers of applications from farmers, ranchers, and rural small businesses seeking funding for clean energy projects under the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP).
