CDFA Food Systems Finance Best Practices Guidebook, Available Now!
Linking development finance and food systems can be a daunting undertaking for any community. DOE Announces $550M in Clean Energy Funding to Benefit Americans
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced $550M to support community-based clean energy in state, Tribal, and local governments — serving more than 250 million Americans. This investment, through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program, will support communities across the country to develop local programming and deploy clean energy technologies to cut emissions and reduce consumers' energy costs.

White House Announces $13B in Funding to Modernize Power Grids
The White House announced through the Department of Energy (DOE) that it is soliciting grant applications for $13 billion in new financing under the bipartisan infrastructure bill for the expansion and modernization of the U.S. electric grid.

Michigan Tech Gets $8M to Research EV Battery Recycling
Michigan Tech University is receiving more than $8 million of federal infrastructure funding to develop technologies and processes to recycle and reuse batteries from electric vehicles. The funding was awarded as part of a bipartisan initiative from the U.S. Department of Energy.

Yellow School Buses Go Green to Cut Emissions in Dallas, TX
Dallas students will soon be shuttled in new electric school buses that will reduce the district's greenhouse gas emissions. DISD is among about a dozen Texas districts across the state chosen for the Environmental Protection Agency's Clean School Bus program that gives Dallas more than $7 million to purchase a small fleet of new buses and build out related infrastructure.

$90M in Energy and Construction Financing for California's West Harbor
Developers of a mile-long West Harbor shopping and dining destination along the San Pedro waterfront in California have broken ground after securing $90 million in financing. The Ratkovich Company and Jerico Development began the 42-acre redevelopment project after closing on the construction loans.

Clean Energy and Climate are Poised to Take Priority in Minnesota Legislature
A bill requiring Minnesota to run on 100 percent clean energy by 2040 and similar legislation have passed the DFL-controlled House in recent sessions, but died in the Senate under Republican dominance. Climate activists and legislators say that should change now that Democrats have won control of the Senate.

EDF Celebrates the Passing of the New York Bond Act
New York voters passed the historic Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act ballot measure to support environmental improvements that preserve, enhance, and restore New York's natural resources, and create more than 84,000 local jobs. The measure is the largest environmental bond act in state history at $4.2 billion and the largest on any ballot anywhere in the nation in 2022.
