Redevelopment Authority, Investors Working to Address Meadville's Blight
The RDA is investing a total of $35,000 into two projects, according to Withey, which includes $25,000 in low-interest loans and $10,000 in grants. The grants were used to address high-priority issues such as heating systems and windows that were needed to make the buildings livable, Withey said.
PA Seeks Federal Funds to Support Rural Broadband
Jill Foys, executive director of the Northwest Commission, said rural fortunes are tied to adequate internet service. She equates the fundamental need for rural broadband service to the essence of roads and phone service in the last century.
Seven PA Business Development Projects Will Support 1,100 Jobs
Seven new projects have been approved through the Commonwealth Financing Authority, totaling more than $20.7 million in funding. One project was approved for funding under the Pipeline Investment Program, and six projects were approved for funding under the Business in Our Sites program.
TIF Funding Moving Forward in Springfield Township, PA
The funding for Springfield Township's Tax Incremental Financing project is moving along as expected. The $13M TIF loan will be split between the school district, sewer district and Township.
30 PA Community Revitalization Projects Receive Funding
Governor Tom Wolf has announced the approval of $3.8 million in funding through the Keystone Communities program to support 30 community revitalization projects across the commonwealth. The funding will support projects such as accessible housing and façade improvements.
