EDA Grant Announced for Former KY Coal Jobs
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, Communities in Kentucky hit by a downturn in coal or power-plant jobs could get help with economic development under the new EPA Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization (POWER) program.
Construction of High-Speed Internet Network in Eastern KY
A project to build a high-speed internet service network throughout Kentucky is on track. According to Kentucky.com, the legislature authorized $30 million in bonds, the Appalachian Regional Commission contributed $15 million, and Macquarie Capital will pay to build the system.
Northern KY Fund Gets Federal Boost
The Catalytic Fund has been certified as a CDFI, according to the agency's press release. Servicing Ludlow, Covington, Newport, Bellevue and Dayton, Kentucky, the agency is just the third CDFI in Greater Cincinnati and twelfth in the commonwealth.
