CA Developers Test New State Certified Credits
Several affordable housing developers are working to close the financing on their latest projects using new "certificated" credits in California. They will be the first to use the financing tool after California leaders made changes to the law to allow for the certification of state low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) under a three-year pilot.

GROW Act Would be Good for CA Water
The GROW Act would provide water reliability to the Central Valley Project Improvement Act (CVPIA) to ensure water resources are reliable, predictable, and available to fulfill supply promises, expand infrastructure by enacting one-stop-shop permitting reforms to capture more water, and more.

Transformers Spinoff Wins $22M CA Film Tax Credit
In a major boon to local production, "Bumblebee," the spinoff movie from Paramount's "Transformers" franchise, will shoot in California with the help of a $22-million tax credit. It's the largest tax break awarded to date under a state program aimed at curbing so-called runaway production.

States Across the US Are Finding Innovative Ways to Finance Energy
Many of the initiatives to move our energy system towards clean, renewable power emanate from the state and local levels. A few cities have already reached the 100 percent clean energy mark, with many more committing to eventually meet that standard.

WNC Closes $85 Million CA Institutional LIHTC Fund
The fund will acquire eight properties in both suburban, urban and rural parts of California. Combined, the properties will offer nearly 500 affordable housing units to seniors and families throughout the Golden State.

Study Puts Coastside County, CA Recycled Water Costs at $5.2M
A consultant's draft financial plan estimates that a recycled water project on the Coastside would cost approximately $5.2 million. On top of that, annual maintenance costs are expected to reach approximately $273,000. State Clean Water Revolving Fund loans or bond financing may be pursued.
